Hiab, the business area providing load handling solutions within Cargotec, has received an order for 390 loader cranes to be delivered to the British Army. The cranes are part of a larger delivery of new cargo trucks to the British Army. The delivery of the loader cranes will start at the end of 2006 and continue until the end of 2012. The parties have agreed that the monetary value will not be disclosed.
The three crane models suit the requirements of the 6, 9 and 15-tonne army trucks. The cranes that have been developed together with the customer will be the latest additions to the family of air transportable cranes. They fit within a very compact space envelope so that the trucks may be transported unmodified in military cargo planes.
