Cargotec Receives Service Contract from India

11/07/2006

Kalmar, the business area providing container handling solutions within Cargotec, has signed a five-year service contract for 29 rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs) with Mumbai-based terminal operator Gateway Terminals India Pvt Ltd (GTI). The service contract covers maintenance, engineering support, daily inspections and parts supply as well as more than 100 maintenance specialists and operators. GTI is a joint venture between APM Terminals and Container Corporation of India.

Kalmar is currently delivering the RTGs ordered by GTI in March 2005 to the Nhava Seva container terminal. The service agreement further strengthens Kalmar's position in India. Since establishing its own subsidiary in the end of 2005 through the acquisition of 51 percent of Indlift, its previous agent, Kalmar has been growing its sales and service network in India.
