A substantial order from Color Line for MacGREGOR to supply linkspans and passenger gangways will further enhance the efficiency of the operator SuperSpeed service between Norway and DenmarkThe MacGREGOR Group RoRo division part of the Cargotec Corporation has received a substantial order from Color Line to supply port equipment for its SuperSpeed service linking Norway and Denmark.
MacGREGOR will deliver two-level linkspans and passenger gangways for Color Line port facilities in Kristiansand and Larvik, in Norway. And for its services in Hirtshals in Denmark, MacGREGOR will provide two upper-level linkspans. Delivery of the equipment will start at the end of this year and is scheduled to be completed within the first quarter of 2008.
The port equipment contract follows an order by Color Line last year for MacGREGOR to supply RoRo cargo access/transfer systems to serve the two new 211m SuperSpeed RoPax ferries being built by Aker Yard Rauma facility for handover in 2007 and 2008. Each vessel is designed to carry 1,800 passengers and 2km of trailers at a service speed of 27 knots.
The first delivery will be deployed on the Kristiansand-Hirtshals route and the sistership on the Larvik-Hirtshals route, their size and speed injecting a substantial increase in traffic capacity between the countries.
