Over 30 container ships on order at Hyundai group yards will feature MacGREGOR hatch covers
Korea Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo yards have ordered MacGREGOR hatch covers for several series of container ships ranging from 1,800 TEU to 8,600 TEU
Complete deliveries of weatherdeck lift-away hatch cover sets for 34 ships booked by leading international owners from Korea Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo yards will be supplied by MacGREGOR, underlining its strong status among builders and operators.
The 27 Hyundai Mipo newbuildings concerned embrace 1,800 TEU, 2,824 TEU, 3,500 TEU and 4,300 TEU series ordered by Claus-Peter Offen, Conti-NSB, Orix, E Rickmers, NVA and PONL.
MacGREGOR will as informed earlier - also supply container handling cranes for the 1,800 TEU feeder ships, each outfit comprising three GL cranes with lifting capacities up to 45 tonnes. The cranes will be delivered from MacGREGOR Korean production partner Hochang Heavy Machinery.
Seven larger container ships commissioned from Hyundai Heavy Industries are also specified with hatch covers from MacGREGOR:
two 4,900 TEU vessels for NYK, each shipset comprising 50 lift-away panels two 5,100 TEU vessels for CGM/CMA, each shipset comprising 49 lift-away panels three 8,600 TEU vessels for Hapag-Lloyd, each shipset comprising 60 lift-away panels.
Hatch covers will be produced at MacGREGOR partner plants in China.
