Cargotec to Supply Hatch Covers for 34 Ships

Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling solutions has received significant hatch cover orders from shipyards of the Korean Hyundai Group. The hatch covers will be delivered during 2007–2008 for 34 container ships that are under construction for several ship owners. The value of the orders exceeds USD 40 million.

Of the ships 27 will be constructed at the Hyundai Mipo shipyard and 7 at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard. The capacity of the ships ranges from 1,800 TEU to 8,600 TEU. A TEU stands for one 20-foot container.

The hatch covers will be manufactured at MacGREGOR's Chinese partner plants.
